THIS SPATIAL PRESERVATION PROJECT IS MADE FROM TENS OF THOUSANDS OF PHOTOGRAPHS THAT RECREATE A NATIONAL TREASURE THAT HAS BEEN COLLAPSING UNDER THE WEIGHT OF TIME AND THE ELEMENTS SINCE THE PASSING OF ITS CREATOR.
This is the only way to experience Salvation Mountain the way it appeared when it’s creator, Leonard Knight, was still alive (the central mountain model made from images taken in in 2011). This model shows the mountain before several collapses and subsequent repairs after heavy rains, the closure of the yellow brick road, and the closure of the structures to the far right that Leonard called “the Museum,” and all of the other loving alterations mean to keep Leonard’s mountain and memory alive.
